With the on-going COVID-19 related travel restrictions and advisories issued by the Indian and U.S. Governments, all BHAVAN awardees are advised to NOT seek the DS2019 documentation from their U.S. Host at this time.
For those BHAVAN awardees who have received the DS 2019 form/valid visa, please note that no outward travel will be approved until further notice.
These visitation programs are designed to provide researchers with hands-on experience and access to advanced laboratory facilities. Given the prevailing situation and the range of COVID-19 protocols being observed at different institutions across India and U.S., the Department of Science and Technology has decided that all BHAVAN fellowships will be kept in abeyance until further notice.
As soon as the situation improves, we will reach out with further instructions. Until then, please practice social distancing and stay safe and healthy.
Recognizing that climate change, clean and efficient energy and environmental protection are among the biggest challenges facing India and the United States and to address the need for human resource development and capacity building in the frontier area of Building Energy Efficiency; the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) have developed a dynamic visitation program between Indian and US institutions and premier US Universities. The Building Energy Efficiency Higher & Advanced Network (BHAVAN) Fellowships are envisaged to create a sustainable and vibrant linkage between the two nations, as well as build long term Indo-American science and technology relationships.
